Sally Howard, J.D.

Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Quality

In her role as Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Quality, Sally oversees the regulatory strategy and leads the quality function for Freenome’s clinical diagnostic products.

A lawyer by training, Sally brings the knowledge and experience she gained while Deputy Commissioner at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), where she led efforts to bring novel regulatory approaches to next-generation sequencing assays as part of President Barack Obama’s Precision Medicine Initiative. Most recently, Sally was Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Quality at Adaptive Biotechnologies, where she led the successful effort to obtain the only Emergency Use Authorization that the FDA granted for a T-cellbased COVID-19 assay. Sally previously held a number of senior positions at the Department of Health and Human Services, including Deputy General Counsel and Chief of Staff.

Sally earned her J.D. at the University of Kansas School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from Kansas State University.
